Peacock Princess Concept (The Peacock Princess)

I think I've decided that my children's story experimentation will be more entertaining with an original story of mine.

I chose a story I came up with a few months ago titled The Peacock Princess, a tale inspired by all the classic fairy tales that everyone knows and loves. It's sort of a mix between Snow White, Swan Lake, Beauty and the Beast, and others tales like those ones.

The story follows a princess betrothed to a prince in a neighboring kingdom. When the prince's mother sees her throne threatened by the princess, she curses the princess. By night, the princess takes the form of a beautiful princess, but by day, she takes the form of a peacock. Only true love can break the curse.

Since the prince's kingdom is inspired by peacocks, the visuals proved to be difficult in the past, but I think it's perfect for an illustrated story. There's going to be a lot of color due to the colorfulness of peacocks... so expect a lot of green, blues, and purples. 

My idea is that the princess could be names Lydia or Lily, but I'm open to other suggestions if anyone has one.
