I Don't Mean Rhinestones, but Diamonds...

"But Diamonds are a girl's best... best friend."   

A friend of mine was tasked with creating posters for a mini play thing my high school puts on each year, but she suggested me for the poster of the short play about Marilyn Monroe and three men she was involved with.

I of course had to draw her in her "Diamonds" outfit because it's gorgeous, and also because it's referenced in the play itself luckily enough for me (for those who don't know, this is one of my favorite movie costumes EVER!)  

I really wanted the diamonds to stand out, so I found a picture of one online and did a copy and paste method with varying sizes to make it interesting. 

I also tried to work on rendering, so I tried to do better on shading and folds in the dress.  

Hopefully, the person in charge of adding the words to the poster doesn't mess it up. I think I'd like to mention that I'd like them to be black.
